Fájlokban található bájtok, szavak és sorok számlálása

Elöfordulhat hogy tudni akarjuk egy fájl hány sorból ál, vagy hány karakterből. Sok eszköz áll rendelkezésünkre, de most a wc paranccsal fogjuk ezeket megszámolni. A rosszul hangzó nevével ellentétbe ez egy jó kis program :-).

A  wc program bájtok, szavak és újsor-jelek számát számolja meg az argumentumként megadott fájlokban.  Ha nem adunk meg fájlnevet, illetve a fájlnévként a `-' jelet adjuk meg, akkor a szabványos bemenet olvassa a program.

Felhasználása: wc [OPCIÓ] [FÁJL]

-c, --bytes

kiírja a byte-ok számát

-m, --chars

kiírja a karakterek számát

-l, --lines

kiírja a új sorok számát

-L, --max-line-length

kiírja a leghosszabb sor számát

-w, --words

kiírja a szavak számát

Megvan a fájlunk aminek a karakter számát akarjuk tudni: pytest.py

wc pytest.py --chars

170 pytest.py

Vagy megszámoljuk hány sor és szó van a fájlba:

 

wc -l -w pytest.py 

11  20 pytest.py

"Vagy megszámoljuk hány sort és hány szavat írtunk a fájlba"-a hiba ugye az hogy szavat írtál szó helyett.
