Több folyamat kezelése egy terminálba

 A folyamat elindítása után, félre tehetjük a folyamatot, ezért nyomjunk meg a Ctrl+Z billentyű kombinációt. Ezzel a folyamat nem áll le csak a háttérbe kerül, és onnan elő vehetjük akármikor.

A példa kedvéért indítsuk el a nano szövegszerkesztőt:

nano

Ha elindult dolgozhatunk vele, majd tegyük a Ctrl+Z paranccsal háttérbe.

A képernyőn két információs sor jelenik meg:

Az „fg” kiadásával visszatérhet a nanohoz.

[1]+  Megállítva            nano

Ezek után indítsunk egy másik programot. például a:

top

rendszer információs programot. Ezzel is dolgozhatunk majd a Ctrl+Z paranccsal tegyük háttérbe. A háttérben lévő programokat a jobs paranccsal nézhetjük meg:

jobs

Egy listát kapunk a háttérben félre tett programokkal. Mind a két program sorszámot kapott. A sorszámok segítségével vissza, azaz előtérbe hozhatjuk a kivánt programot. Hozzuk előtérbe a most a nano programot a fg paranccsal:

fg 1

Az fg programnak egyetlen paraméter szükséges megadni, annak a programnak a sorszáma amit előtérbe szeretnénk hozni. Ha paraméter nélkül adjuk ki az fg parancsot akkor az utolsó háttérbe küldött programot hozza előtérbe.

Az így félretett programok nem futnak. Ha elötérbe hozzuk onnan folytatodik ahol abba hagytuk. Ezt egy egyszerü példával lehet ellenörizni:

sleep 120

Ctrl+Z

jobs

[2]-  Megállítva            top
[3]+  Megállítva            sleep 120

A további futattást a bg parancssal lehet megoldani. Jelen példával élve:

bg 3

[2]+  Megállítva            top

[3]-  Fut                   sleep 120 &
