A du parancs használata

A du (disk usage = lemez használat) egy standard Unix parancs, mely megadja a fájlok (állományok, könyvtárak) által használt területet a merevlemezen. Egy szóval összegzi a lemez foglalást. Nagyon hasznos parancs ha a helyfoglalást kell nyomon követni.
parancs szintaxis:

du [opciók] [útvonal]

Ha nem adunk meg egy útvonalat az aktuális könyvtárra hivatkozik a parancs.
A leghasznosabb opció a -h

du -h

human readable - vagyis olvasható, embernek érthető módon listázza a méreteket (kilobytes K, megabytes M és gigabytes G)

du -sh

summarize - elhagyja az alkönyvtárak részletes méreteit és csak az összes lefoglalt méretet mutassa.

du -a

all - kilistázza a könyvtárakat és fájlokat is.

du -h --max-depth=1

felsorolja a könyvtárakat és azok alkönyvtárainak méretét de csak a kívánt szintig jeleníti meg.

du -h | less

du | sort -n

du -h | sort -n | less

A du parancs kimenetét átadjuk a less parancsnak, ezáltal tudunk vissza lapozni az listába. A sort paranccsal rendezni lehet a kimenetet.

du -ah | grep M

A grep által megszűrjük a kimenetet, hogy csak azokat a sorokat mutassa ahol előfordul a M betű (megabytes), igaz itt azokat a fájlokat is megjeleníti amelyek tartalmazzák a M betűt.
